Why is an H&I Meeting/Presentation Needed?

The purpose of an H&I meeting is to carry the NA message of recovery to addicts who do not have full access to regular Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
H&I meetings/presentations, except for those in longer term facilities, are intended to simply introduce those attending to some of the basics of the NA program.

Who does it?

Hospitals and Institutions work is accomplished through service committees directly responsible to those they serve (local NA Groups).
H&I meetings/presentations inform addicts who do not have full access to regular Narcotics Anonymous meetings about recovery from addiction through the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Narcotics Anonymous.

How does it get done?

We get the job done by establishing clear guidelines for our subcommittees, setting goals, prioritizing tasks, adhering to our Twelve Traditions, and a lot of hard work!

What is PI?
Public information is informing the public about recovery from addiction through the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Narcotics Anonymous.

The purpose of public information work in Narcotics Anonymous is to inform the public that NA exists and offers recovery from the disease of addiction.  A public information committee helps to ensure that accurate information about our fellowship is available to the public.

Who does it?
Public information work is accomplished through service committees directly responsible to those they serve (local NA Groups).  PI subcommittees provide community awareness of what NA is, as well as where and when NA meetings take place.

How does it get done?
We get the job done by establishing clear guidelines for our subcommittees, setting goals, prioritizing tasks, adhering to our Twelve Traditions, and a lot of hard work!
